1. What is a roller?
The roller, a key component in the conveyor system, bears the load of both the conveyor belt and the materials it carries. Comprising approximately 35% of the conveyor system's overall expenditure, it is responsible for over 70% of the resistance encountered, highlighting the significance of its durability. There are two primary methods for joining these components: conventional welding and friction welding, with the latter being the preferred technique due to its superior quality.

2. Differences between Friction-welding and Traditional Type
- Track rollers fabricated through friction welding exhibit superior resistance to wear and a prolonged operational life.
- Material usage: In contrast to conventional rollers where the bodies are joined using a filler material, friction-welded rollers rely on the contact between the bodies themselves. This method necessitates the addition of extra material to ensure that the roller conforms to the desired dimensions post-welding.
- Precision of components: Traditional rollers undergo welding following two machining stages, which can result in less precise internal dimensions compared to friction-welded rollers. For friction-welded rollers, an additional round of precise machining with concentric alignment is performed post-welding to guarantee the accuracy of the internal dimensions, indicating a higher level of precision and quality in the components.
