Production Process

4. A full normalizing and quench temper cycle develops uniform mechanical properties through the section.

7. Blasting removes scale and prepares a clean surface for the finish coating.

No. Only the grouser surface is induction hardened to about 48-55 HRC. The body and the link seat stay in a lower, tougher hardness range so the shoe bends rather than cracks under impact.
